You will be seeing more of this on my knives in coming months. It is a beautiful wood with a surprising amount of grain pattern in it. You have to hold one of these knives to truly appreciate the beauty of this wood.

It is an extremely dense wood. I however still get it stabilized to avoid any problems with moisture.
