A beautiful wood, Ash Burl is one of the most popular woods that I use. With its swirls of tan and brown colours complimented with the typical "eyes" of burl wood this wood makes for a great looking knife handle.

I should also mention that it is a very hard wood even prior to stabilizing. The stabilization process makes it even harder which means that Ash Burl not only looks good it makes for a tough handle as well.
